Privacy Policy

Effective date: 22 October 2026

1. Who we are

Payonetime (payonetime.ng) is a product name of ALISTECH SERVICES LIMITED ("we", "us"), a company registered in Nigeria. We own and operate the Payonetime mobile app and this website, and we are responsible for the personal information described here. This policy explains what we collect when you use the app, why, and the choices you have. Please read it carefully. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the app.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Phone number. To create and sign in to your account. We verify it with a one-time SMS code.
  • Passcode. The 6-digit code you choose. We store it only in scrambled (hashed) form, so we cannot read it.
  • Identity details, only if you ask for your own permanent bank account number. Your first and last name, date of birth, email address, and your BVN or NIN. Nigerian banking rules require this to open an account number in your name. We do not keep your full BVN or NIN. We keep only the last four digits and a one-way fingerprint that stops the same number being used twice.
  • Email address for a one-time bank account. If you create a one-time account to add money, our payment partner needs an email address. We use our own support address for this, not yours.
  • Messages to support. What you send us by email or WhatsApp, including your phone number, so we can help you.

Information created when you use the app

  • Transactions. Your wallet balance, the money you add, and every purchase of airtime, data and electricity, including amounts, dates, phone and meter numbers you pay for, references, tokens and refunds.
  • Notifications. The alerts we send you about your account and payments.
  • Saved numbers and recent activity. Numbers you save or reuse for purchases, and the recent items you choose to hide.

Information collected automatically

  • Device information. A device identifier, the device name and platform (Android), and when it was last used. We use it so that only one phone is signed in to your account at a time.
  • Push notification token. A Google Firebase identifier for your installation, so we can send you notifications.
  • Security and log data. Your IP address and access times when you request an SMS code or sign in, and records of sign-in attempts, used to prevent fraud and abuse.

Information that stays on your phone

  • Your fingerprint or face data never leaves your phone. The app only asks your phone's biometric system whether it recognises you.
  • The app checks on your phone whether the device appears to be rooted or modified, to protect payments. It does not send a list of your apps or files to us.

3. How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account and verify it is you.
  • To process your wallet funding and your purchases, and to send you confirmations, receipts and refunds.
  • To open a bank account number in your name when you ask for one.
  • To send notifications about your account and payments.
  • To respond to your questions and requests.
  • To prevent fraud and unlawful activity, to keep the app secure, and to meet our legal obligations.
  • To fix problems and keep the service running.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed with these kinds of service providers, who act on our behalf:

  • Payment and bank-account provider (Monnify, by Moniepoint). To create bank account numbers, receive your transfers and verify your BVN or NIN where required, and to complete purchases of airtime, data and electricity.
  • SMS provider (Flutterwave). To send the one-time code to your phone number.
  • Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. To deliver push notifications to your phone.
  • Hosting providers. Our servers store your information securely.
  • Authorities and others where the law requires, or where needed to protect rights, property and safety, and in connection with a merger, sale of assets or acquisition of our business.

Your information may be processed on servers outside Nigeria by these providers. We require them to protect it.

5. What we do not do

  • The app does not use advertising, analytics or tracking technologies, and this website does not use cookies.
  • The app does not ask for access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos or text messages.
  • We never ask for your passcode or SMS code. Never share them with anyone.

6. Security

  • All connections between the app and our servers are encrypted.
  • Passcodes are stored hashed, and your full BVN or NIN is never stored.
  • Payments need your passcode, and sign-in on a new phone signs out the old one.
  • Our staff sign in with a password and a second factor, can only do what their role allows, and their actions are recorded.
  • Every transaction is recorded in a ledger that is never edited.

No system is perfectly secure, and no method of transmission is completely safe, but we work to protect your information.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your account information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, passcode, saved numbers and device details. We keep transaction and payment records for as long as Nigerian financial and tax rules require, and to resolve disputes and prevent fraud. We use those records for no other purpose.

8. Your rights

Under Nigerian data protection law, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you may ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, restrict or object to how we use it, or delete it. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

You can delete your account in the app (Profile, Settings, Delete account) or by following these steps. For any other request, contact us. We may need to confirm it is you first.

9. Children

Payonetime is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it as quickly as possible.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and change the effective date above. For important changes, we will also tell you in the app.
